Dear Friends,

Easter is a season of joy and contemplation. We hear about Christ’s overcoming death on Easter Sunday, and for the following few weeks we hear Gospel passages that try to help us make sense of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. This Sunday, we’ll look at a well-known passage from John wherein Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd. As with most well-known quotes like this, it’s important to keep our inquisitive spirit alive and make sure we really know what Jesus means when he says this, and how this can help us better understand Easter. There’s a lot to unpack, and I hope to see you there! Have a blessed week.

This year began a new era at the church as we enthusiastically welcomed John as our permanent pastor. The annual budget, which increased by $30,000 to $84,550, showed that we are ready to use investment funds in order to launch this new ministry. And we look forward to increased support for our new pastor and to the church’s growth.

The Parish Council also has financial considerations related to buildings. The council welcomes suggestions as it looks into grants, seeks a contractor to evaluate Parish House energy and repair needs, considers the Methodist Church status, and thinks of fundraising possibilities.

All financial support is appreciated. It is easy to give through the “Donate” button at tunbridgechurch.org. Checks may be sent to PO Box 270, Tunbridge, VT 05077.
