COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community Food Shelf: Fridays 4-6 p.m. at the Parish House, serving people from Tunbridge and the area. Before Christmas community groups join with Food Shelf and Outreach Committee volunteers to provide Christmas dinner boxes and unwrapped gift items for clients to select.

Remembering Seniors & Shut-ins: The Outreach Committee hosts seniors at several Super Senior Luncheons during the year. Before Thanksgiving bags of treats are delivered to local seniors and shut-ins. Carolers visit local seniors a week before Christmas. Some church members make home visits throughout the year.

Community Events: The church hosts and welcomes the community to the Easter Sunrise Service and breakfast, Sugar on Snow Party, Ice Cream Social, decorating of the church for Christmas and caroling to seniors. Just Desserts in February, the Community Yard Sale in July and the 5K Fun Walk/Run and Anything Apple in October are annual fundraising events.

Meeting Space: The Parish House is available to community groups. AA, Al-Anon and Making Change meet there weekly.

Lawn Space: The community is invited to use the playground on the Parish House lawn. As the largest green space in Tunbridge Village, the lawn, which is across the road from the church, is used for the public library’s Memorial Day plant sale, the church’s Community Yard Sale, the summer Farmers Market, the AA picnic and other events.
