Rev. Dr. Jennifer “Jenny” S. Cook
The Tunbridge Church welcomed the Rev. Dr. Jennifer “Jenny” S. Cook as settled part-time pastor in February 2020 after she had served as interim pastor for four months. Before church activities were suspended in mid-March, Jenny spent Saturdays doing visitation and pastoral work and led Sunday and special worship services. Since then she has been producing mid-week messages and Sunday services that are shared by email and staying in telephone touch with congregants. (Send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the email list.)
Jenny’s previous positions include being a senior minister, directing Christian education, ministering to the homeless, leading retreats, developing seminary curricula, and serving as police and fire chaplain. She has drawn on those and other experiences to bring new ideas to Tunbridge. The church’s presence has been shared beyond the congregation with lip balms, Valentine lollipops with “You Are Loved” messages and microwave “pop in sometime” popcorn packets. Jenny led A Service of Light on the winter solstice and cell phone singing of “Happy Birthday” and Christmas carols. Covid-19 restrictions prevented continuation of a Care for Caregivers program.
Aside from her ministerial work, Jenny is a Reiki master/teacher and a certified life coach and reflexologist. She plays the flute, directed an English handbells group and loves to bake and cook. She can be reached at email@example.com.
